This is a question that I often ask myself and maybe you are asking yourself too.
The world is in turmoil, and many do not know how to act in a loving and nurturing manner towards each other. Our lives are constantly being bombarded with news sound bites that are meant to get a reaction from us; and most times, it’s not a kind reaction but an explosive one. We see these chaotic scenes everywhere we look. We see acts of terrorism being perpetrated in our cities. We see children and young adults suffering at the hands of traffickers. We see starving and homeless individuals in our streets. We see domestic violence happening almost daily. And we see a lack of love and understanding and divisiveness overtaking our population. There is no doubt that we, as a people and a civilization, are in terrible trouble.
Is this happening because our animosity has grown so great that it seems like there is no going back to a genteel, more relaxed day of yesteryear? Or, is this happening because we are not trying any longer to understand each other? The problems that come from misunderstanding each other’s cultures, religious beliefs, and upbringing hangs over each and every one of us like the “sword of Damocles,” ready to annihilate any person, at any given time.
Well, the good news is that there are angels among us. People who have committed themselves to do good works for their fellow man. People that show love and understanding to everyone they meet. People who wish to dry the tears of the tormented in whatever shape it takes in other people’s lives. People who have heard God’s calling and wish to share the good news that God is One!
Each year, All Faiths Seminary International teaches ordinary people how to become extraordinary spiritual leaders. These Interfaith Ministers join the ranks of those that have gone before them. Each year they go out into the world and through love, kindness, and understanding, they make their mark in the world, ministering a soothing balm to the hopeless souls that need understanding, love and spiritual help.
Yes, There Are Angels Among Us. I know this, All Faiths Seminary knows this, and now, you do too!
